The must-have static caravan accessories you cannot live without

What accessories do I need for a caravan? We show you the accessories to make your caravan more homely.

Static caravan owners use their caravans as a home-from-home getaway or as a rental to provide others with the opportunity to holiday in comfort. But what touches can be added to transform a static caravan to really make it feel like home? And do renters need different accessories to caravan owners?

Static caravan accessories – safety

Essential accessories that should be present in all static caravans, for your peace of mind and that of your holiday tenants, include smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, with spare batteries available. A first aid kit, fully equipped with in-date supplies, is also a must to ensure you are covered in the event of an accident or emergency situation. Fire extinguishers and fire blankets should also be included, particularly where the caravan will be let to holidaymakers.

Static caravan accessories – outdoor living

Nothing beats sitting on the decking of your caravan, enjoying a meal with friends and family and to be able to do it in comfort is a touch that your renters will also greatly appreciate. A barbecue on holiday is a great accessory to equip your caravan with, and our range includes gas and charcoal models, as well as a handy cover to protect the grill against the elements. If space is limited or permanent decking seating is not viable, collapsible easy-fold tables are a good investment – they can be stored away when the space is needed for other things and camping chairs will double-up for days at the beach.

Static caravan accessories – entertainment

Sadly not every holiday is endless sunshine and for those wet and miserable days, it’s a thoughtful touch to have some board games, a pack of playing cards or a selection of books in the caravan. Where there is a television with a DVD player, perhaps a few films wouldn’t go amiss either.

Practical static caravan accessories

Who doesn’t like to wake up on holiday to hot tea and toast? Most static caravan kitchens now come fully equipped but the stove may not have an integral grill so a toaster and a kettle are must-have accessories. Similarly, the addition of a microwave oven or a slow cooker can be lifesaving at the end of a long day of excursions.

While it may not be for everyone, the ladies in the caravan will almost certainly be glad of a hairdryer. It is one less thing to worry about packing and tenants arriving will appreciate finding one!

Whether you wash laundry while on holiday or not, everyone will appreciate somewhere to hang towels and swimwear to dry. A Kampa Quad Washing Line is a great accessory that can fold away easily when not in use. But don’t forget the pegs!
